General Manager & General Counsel Appointed
Mr Sanjiv Jetly has been appointed to the staff of the Securities Commission in the new position of General Manager.
Sanjiv Jetly was previously General Manager Operations for Tower Managed Funds and has had a distinguished career in financial services. He holds an MBA and is a Chartered Accountant who has been active in Institute of Chartered Accountants of New Zealand. He is an Associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, London, and a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, London.
Sanjiv will be responsible for the financial management, strategic planning, project management. and the administrative and management support functions for the Commission.
Mr Liam Mason has been appointed to the position of General Counsel. Liam has a LL.M. from Victoria University of Wellington and a BA from Otago University.
He has been with the Commission for five years. Liam is particularly involved in the Commission's work on the Securities Markets and Institutions Bill and stock exchange matters.
He is experienced in the all aspects of the Commission's legal work involving law reform, exemptions, authorisations and enforcement.
