News Release

WARNING : TRI-WEST INVESTMENT CLUB
HAARLEM UNIVERSAL CORPORATION

The Securities Commission has prohibited advertising for a scheme known as the Tri-West Investment Club. The scheme appears to be based in Belize in Central America. A Panamanian company called Haarlem Universal Corporation is also involved.

We understand the Tri-West Investment Club is being actively promoted in Palmerston North, Tauranga and Whakatane.

The scheme does not have a registered prospectus or investment statement and is in breach of New Zealand securities law. The scheme has all the hallmarks of a prime bank scheme. These schemes are known to be fraudulent.

Tri-West and Harlem have been the subject of regulatory action in Canada and the United States. "Cease and desist" orders have been made against them by regulatory authorities in both these countries.

We warn people to be extremely careful if they are approached to put money into the Tri-West or any related scheme.

Norman F Miller
Senior Executive (Operations)
