News Release

AIR NEW ZEALAND OFFER DOCUMENTS REVIEWED

The Securities Commission has reviewed the offer documents of Air New Zealand of 6 October 2000 for the offer of rights for new shares to its existing shareholders.

The Commission considers that, on the basis of the information which it has, it would not be appropriate for it to intervene in the offer process. It is for the directors to decide whether to allot the new shares in the terms of the offer documents and the Securities Act.

John Farrell
Chief Executive
